20 years of educational work with the Grand Union Orchestra, ranging from one-off rhythm workshops to large-scale projects in world music and jazz, for all ages from 6 to 90, including working with students at Leeds College of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire.
Involved in the development of the ABRSM horns jazz grades syllabus, contributed a tune to the grade 5 list and played on the CDs, including all the scale demonstrations! Also led several sessions for peripatetic teachers to build their confidence in teaching the syllabus.
Tutor on the ‘Ÿllas Winter Jazz’ course (Jan ’08) with performance at Ÿllas Jazz Festival (Finland) organised by Jyväskylä Vocational Institute.
Tutor on the Guildhall Jazz Summer School (’06,’07,’08).

I have transcribed John Mclaughlin’s rhythm teaching DVD ‘Gateway to Rhythm’, and the transcripts are available for free download from his website.
I also teach classical 'cello, having taken the LTCL teaching diploma in my youth!
